Nyla is a strategic thinker and hands-on operator who turns ideas into action. Most comfortable on the cutting edge of new technologies and innovative approaches to business, Nyla consistently sits the intersection of business innovation, impact, and courage.


Throughout her 20+ year tenure at Rogers Communications, Nyla held a variety of executive leadership roles shaping the company’s response to changing market conditions, emerging technologies, consumer adoption patterns, venture opportunity, and corporate strategy. Her career began in media as Editor-in-Chief at OWL Kids, where she created CHIRP magazine, launched Canada’s first website for kids, and authored Cybersurfer: the OWL Internet Guide for Kids, a national bestseller and the first to encourage kids during the earliest days of the Internet.

Best known for her authentic and inspirational leadership style, Nyla served as the first-ever Chair of Rogers’ Inclusion & Diversity Council, past-President of the Rogers Women’s Network, and is the recipient of the Canadian Women in Communications Technology Innovator Award. She has served on the Perimeter Institute’s Emmy Noether Circle and as Board Member of the Ontario Media Development Corporation and the University of Waterloo. She is currently an active supporter of The 51 – a financial platform and venture firm unlocking the economic power of women.
