Dr. Andrea Eisen

Dr. Andrea Eisen completed her medical degree and residency training at the University of Toronto. Subsequently, she did a fellowship in breast cancer genetics at the University of Pennsylvania before returning to Canada. She worked at the cancer program in Hamilton and at McMaster University before moving to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and the University of Toronto. At Sunnybrook, she became the Head of Cancer Prevention and of the Cancer Genetics Program, in addition to an active member of the breast cancer medical oncology team. For the past 10 years, she has been the Cancer Care Ontario Provincial breast cancer lead. Dr. Eisen‘s clinical and research interests are in the area of hereditary breast, cancer and breast cancer treatment guidelines and standards. She is a member of expert panels providing guidance to the provincial breast cancer screening programs and cancer genetics programs. In 2024, Dr. Eisen moved back to Hamilton as the Buffet Taylor Chair of Breast Cancer Research and Professor in the Department of Oncology at McMaster University.
